Edmonton Oilers Extend Affiliation with Fort Wayne Komets
Oilers' AHL Affiliate to Remain in Fort Wayne
Long-Term Agreement Ensures Stability and Continuity for Both Organizations
The Edmonton Oilers and Fort Wayne Komets have agreed to a multi-year affiliation extension, ensuring that the two organizations will continue to partner in the American Hockey League (AHL) through the 2025-26 season.
The extension cements the strong relationship between the Oilers and Komets, which dates back to 2014. During that time, the Komets have served as a vital development ground for Oilers prospects, with numerous players graduating to the NHL roster, including Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl, and Evan Bouchard.
The Komets have also been a consistent contender in the AHL, reaching the Calder Cup Finals in 2016 and 2018. Their success on the ice has contributed to the strong attendance and fan support in Fort Wayne, making them one of the most popular teams in the league.
